Sign-up forms: bringing people in without adding them yourself
A sign-up form is hosted by us, not by you: you install nothing on your server, you just paste a link or a code. Create one from the menu, in the Automation group, under Forms.
What a form collects
Email is always present and required. Three fields are optional, each with its own toggle when you build the form:
- Name: a free-text field for the subscriber's name
- City: automatically normalized into a geographic tag (for example bucuresti), useful for segmenting later
- GDPR consent: adds a required checkbox the person has to tick before they can subscribe
Tags start the flows, not the form
Each form has its own "Tags applied at sign-up". Whoever fills in the form automatically gets those tags, and the tags decide which automation starts for that person, not the form itself. If you want a different welcome sequence per form, put a different tag on each one and wire each flow to its own tag.
Putting it on your site
From the form's card, the code icon opens two ways to use it: a direct link to the hosted form, or an iframe snippet ready to paste into any page (WordPress, Webflow, plain HTML). If the form has many fields, increase the height value in the iframe code, otherwise the form shows up clipped.
The embed code only works while the form is Active. An Archived form keeps the subscribers it already collected, but its link and iframe show "Form unavailable" until you reactivate it.
GDPR on the form and email confirmation are not the same thing
These are two different toggles, in two different places. The "GDPR consent" toggle on a form adds a required checkbox on the public page, before submission. The "Subscription confirmation (double opt-in)" toggle, under Client settings, is account-wide, for every form at once: on, any new subscriber coming through a form gets a confirmation email and only becomes active after they click it; off, they become active right away, with no confirmation step.
While a subscriber is waiting on confirmation (double opt-in on, click not given yet), no automation starts for them. Flows tied to "When a new subscriber joins", or to a tag received at signup, only start after confirmation, not when the form is submitted.
Deleting a form
Deleting is permanent for the form, not for the subscribers: any link or iframe that used it shows "Form unavailable" from then on, but the people already collected through it stay on your list, untouched. If you only want to take it off your site temporarily without losing the setup, archive it instead of deleting it.
