Account settings: sender and branding
The Settings page is split into a few cards, each with its own save button. Change a card, press Save on that card, the others stay untouched.
Where you send from
The first card. This is where you start your domain check, if you have one. The steps and DNS records are covered separately, in the articles about connecting your domain and about how long verification takes.
Who sends
- Sender name: the name shown in the inbox. Leave it empty and we use your company name
- The address you send from: type an address on your own domain; the domain check starts from it, so messages do not land in Spam. Without a connected domain, emails go out from the platform's shared address, with your name as the sender
- Reply-to address: where subscriber replies land, if it differs from the sender address. Leave it empty if you do not want separate replies
Your brand
- Logo: PNG, JPG, GIF, or WEBP, under 500KB. Without a logo, a monogram with your initials is used
- Brand colors: the main color (links, headings, buttons) and the header background. Leave it empty and we use the default design's colors
- Default email design: used on every email, unless you pick another one for a specific automation
- Social links: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and TikTok, each with its own field
- Company address: shown in the email footer, required by law for commercial emails. There is no separate toggle, only the text field: whatever you write there goes into the footer
- Privacy policy link: also shown in the footer
- Email signature: text added automatically at the end of every email you compose. The signature is independent of the address field: if you also type the address there by hand, it goes out from there too
The company address, if your registered office is your home
For a company registered at the founder's home address, filling in the company address out of habit sends that home address to your entire list, on every campaign, and it stays archived in people's inboxes.
If you have a commercial address or a PO box, use it. If your registered office is your home, leave the field empty. You stay identifiable through your privacy policy, whose link is in the footer anyway. On the free plan, emails also carry the ClevMail logo.
Confirming subscriptions (double opt-in)
A separate card. Turned on, every new subscriber gets a confirmation email and only becomes active after clicking it; this reduces fake addresses and improves deliverability. Turned off, new subscribers become active immediately, with no confirmation step.
Protection against automated signups
A separate card, for your public signup forms. Turned on, anyone signing up goes through a short check, almost invisible to a person, that blocks bots from filling your lists with fake addresses. Turned off, anyone can submit the form, including an automated script.
Appearance: light or dark
The last card on the page, labeled Appearance, is not about the client, it is about you: it picks how the app looks in your browser, matching the system, light, or dark. It is not saved on the account, so on another computer or browser you choose it again. The card does not appear on Agency settings, because the person it is for, the self-service account owner, never lands there.
For agency accounts
The cards above are identical for a client managed by an agency: you reach them the same way, from Client settings, after picking the client in the selector at the top. There is no different page per client.
The agency also has its own page, Agency settings (top of the menu, visible only to the admin account), with two tabs:
- Client settings: the agency's own profile (name, industry, which affects the AI assistant), Email sending, the email provider and the WooCommerce integration, Content and AI (assistant instructions and preferred style), Branding. These do not exist on a self-service account
- Agency settings: Notifications and Users & access (who has an account on the platform and which clients they are linked to)
Articles in the same category
- Plans, usage limits, and user access
The five plans, the four ceilings and where each one shows, the daily cap on the free plan, and how you change plan.
- The team: how you invite a colleague and what each role can do
How many seats your plan gives you, how you send an invitation, what each of the three roles can do, and how you revoke someone's access.
- Which address your emails go out from
You type the sender address yourself, on your company domain, and the domain check starts from it. What to do if you have no domain yet, and why Gmail does not work.
