Your domain is already registered in another Resend account
Resend is the provider ClevMail sends your emails through. There, a domain can be active in only one account at a time. If “Start the domain check” tells you your domain is already registered with Resend in an account other than ClevMail's, your domain sits in a Resend account opened earlier: by you, by whoever manages your website, or by another service that sends through Resend. Pressing again gets the same answer.
The fastest way out: a subdomain
For Resend, a subdomain is a separate name. In Client settings, on the “Who sends” card, change your sending address to one on a subdomain, for example newsletter@news.yourdomain.com, press Save, then “Start the domain check”. It is the setup we recommend anyway, so your business email is not affected by your marketing sends. The account owner is the one who can change the address.
Remove the domain from the other account
If you know whose account it is, whoever has access signs in at resend.com, goes to Domains and deletes the domain. Then press the button in ClevMail again. Ask first whether anything still goes out through that account, for example your website's forms: once the domain is deleted there, those emails stop.
You don't know whose account it is
Contact support. Resend has a claim process through which ClevMail's account asks for the domain: we give you a TXT record to add to your domain's DNS, as proof that it is yours. The claim is valid for 7 days.
