Checklist before your first campaign
You already sent a test to your own address and it arrived fine. A test to yourself is not the same check as a campaign to real people: the recipient count, the sender address as a stranger sees it, and how fast you send the first time only start to matter now. Five things, checked once, before you press Send.
- Which address it actually sends from. If you have not connected a domain yet, the email goes out from the shared newslettere@news.clevmail.ro, with your name as the sender. That is fine for the first sends on the Free plan, but the recipient does not see your company in the address. If you already have your own domain, check under Client settings that verification is complete, not just started: a domain "in progress" still sends from the platform address, with no separate warning.
- Who you are actually sending to. On the draft screen, under "Send to", read the counter before comparing it to what you expect, not after. If you checked more than one tag, the counter shows anyone with at least one of them, not the intersection: a large archive plus a few cohorts inside it still returns the whole archive. If the number does not match what you wrote down beforehand, stop there.
- Subject, preview text and links, checked from the test, not the editor. The editor preview does not look exactly like what lands in the inbox. Open the test email on your computer and on your phone, read the subject and preview text as they show up in the email list, and click every link in the test. A broken link only shows up after sending, when it is too late to fix.
- The physical address in the footer. Every email automatically goes out with an unsubscribe link and the physical address you set in Client settings, the Your brand card, the “Company address” field. There is no separate toggle: whatever you write there goes into the footer. If your company is registered at a home address, leave the field empty before your first real send: otherwise the home address goes out to the whole list and stays archived in people's inboxes, where it cannot be pulled back.
- If the list is bigger than a handful of friends, ramp up. A freshly verified domain, or even the platform's shared address, has no sending history behind it. If you have added dozens or hundreds of people at once, an old list, an import, an archive, the first campaign does not go out to everyone at once. Send to a small group first, read the bounces and unsubscribes, then send to the rest in waves that get bigger each time. A spam complaint stops the climb completely; bounces and unsubscribes are normal on a reactivation and only slow the pace.
For agency accounts
The extra risk, with several clients on one account: check the client selector, before you hit Send, that you are working on the right client's campaign. The five checks above work the same, but per client. A good test on account A tells you nothing about account B's address or list.

- Your first login: agency account or your own account
The agency wizard is admin-only. On your own account there is no adding a client: your account is the client, and the first screen walks you through domain, brand, subscribers, and your first email.
- Finding your way around
The menu has five groups, plus pages above them and one below them, gated by whether you are an agency administrator. Clevi and Clevi settings are two different screens with near-identical names, in different groups.
